Lake Louise Ski Area

The resort once known as the Lake Louise Mountain Resort is located in the Banff National Park. The resort is on the southern slopes of the Merlin Ridge of the Slate Range Mountains which offers some of the most majestic scenic views in Canada. The base of the resort is lined by the Pipestone River which is a tributary of the Bow River. This close proximity to these beautiful natural treasure’s offers great hiking and backpacking in the spring and summer.

As for the Skiing itself, Lake Louis has some great facilities and state of the art lifts to access the best skiing and riding around.  With 139 ski runs: 25% marked for beginners, 45% for intermediate and 30% advanced there is something for every level skier and rider. There is a great terrain park for all the riders in your party and four full service lodges for warming up and eating up on the mountain.  The base elevation of the mountain is 5,400ft and has a summit elevation of 8,652ft which offers a 3,252ft of vertical change for you alpine skiers.  The resort receives about 15ft of snow a year and covers nearly 4,200 acres of skiable terrain. 9 state of the art lifts service this area, with 3 surface lifts, one triple, one fixed grip quad chair, 2 high speed quads, one high speed 6 passenger chair and one Gondola.  The Gondola is open year round for sight seeing of glaciers, natural springs and sometimes wildlife like bears.

Whatever time or reason for your vacation to Lake Louise something different and unique awaits you.
